For more than 25 years I have always made new discoveries, I take on new challenges and I never get bored. And if I do get bored it means I have to go further.

Singapore - Part 2

Ok ok. Let's get it over with.

After we arrived in Singapore, night, long overdue for the scheduled rehearsal that evening (Yes. We missed it.) we headed straight to Boat Quay for some light dinner prepared to all the speakers of the event.

Marina Bay Sand, viewed from the balcony of the restaurant. Today is the official opening actually, and we can view all those laser-fire-works from here.

Haldhi Indian Restaurant. Don't know how to correlate that colourful dance-floor with an Indian cuisine restaurant. Ada penari gelek la kot? :S

Catch a glimpse of Tun Musa Hitam, Chairman of the WIEF.
Dang, he look soooo young... O_O

After a delightful dinner and get acquainted, its time for some crashing~ (And after all that we've been through, penat kot O_O)

While waiting for the bus to pick us up, Otam and Zulkifli Ramli went 'unplugged'~
But xsempat nk main, tgk2 bas sampai dah... :(

Arrived at the Gallery Hotel. Famous for its 'designer signature' rooms, we just settle in for the cheap one...
(MAHAL KOT!)

Lobby.

The corridor, many beautiful photographs framed on the wall.

The next morning, here is some pictures that I managed too candidly snap~

One of the speaker lined up for the day, Nana Dakin from Thailand. Slowly recovering from a Laryngitis and can actually whisper a bit... A tough situation.

Zan Azlee. Independent filmmaker.
He's the man who made the Kampung Baru documentary aired in the NTV7 last raya.

Jane Arriate Ebarle. Marketing practitioner, Art educationist and an artist. Philippine.  :)

Then we headed straight to Asian Civilisation Museum, where the event is being held.

This is some snapshots before the event started.

And thus, the opening ceremony.

A great performance by Keelat and Endah n Rhesa :)

...Well, frankly speaking after the opening ceremony I kinda skip most of the conference and went on for a tour inside the museum instead. It is my main objective actually here in Singapore, to do research but let us keep this post short by just focusing on the event itself; so no museum pictures. It will bore you anyway... (Pergi sendiri la! ;p)

After the tour around the museum (and hundreds of pictures to boot) just so happen the event is in a pause for some lunch intended for all the participant to feast. Thank God (and I am fraking hungry at that time).

Entah macam mana pulak boleh terserempak dengan junior2 AD time tgh lunch O_o
Mizan, Poyo, Diana dan lain2 lagi.

Apparently UiTM sent 3-buses full of its student from various kind of faculty to join in as a participant. Heh. What a shocker kan? :3

Otam performance xD:

Endah n Rhesa awesome performance, YOU GUYS NEED TO SEE THIS!!:

Both Otam and Endah n Rhesa duo turn me into an instant fan. Natural performer :)

Some miscellaneous pictures surrounding the event:

Otam and his wive :)

Nana showing us what is the meaning of 'performance art'. Flexible muscle, tense muscle, slow, indirect etc etc. Damn I learn a lot. O_O

There still tons of pictures actually but I could not upload them all thanks to my shitty internet. But frankly, this is more than enough right?

For more info of what the event please read about it here.

Hmm. That's about it.

P.S: This is my personal opinion. On a design wise kind of view, we Malaysian are truly blessed that we are so goddamn close to Singapore that whatever artful event happening there, we can just drop by and see. BUT, me being in Singapore doesn't feel 'Asian' at all. There's talk among the Singaporean themselves that most of the old-Singapore like bumboats, old warehouses, the old oriental look of it has been eaten away by modernisation and capitalism. Now, all we see are luxurious hotel, night-clubs (full of drunken lots) and over expensive apartments. Yeah I'm not one to judge but somehow being there is too 'risk-free' for me.

No thrill at all. Being too perfect is boring. At least to me.

Just saying.
